I have just received a BT Homehub and phone. I already have a speedtouch Modem/router connected to a switch which provides wired network points all around the house. Can I configure the homehub to act as a wireless access point for my laptop by disabling the modem router part. I also want to use the VOIP.
seems unlikely, as the hub will be configured to route out its own WAN port on the ADSL line. It may act as an access point but I doubt the VoIP has a hope.

You could just replace the current box with the HH. It will do all that your current box does plus BT BB Talk and Wireless. Before you believe all the bad publicity on these forums why not give is a try.Your alternative is to add a Wireless Access Point to your current box and a Voyager 10v adapter for BT BB Talk. (I am told they can be bought on a famous auction site for ten quid.)
