Microsoft Exchange Contacts - Landline Phones

Are there any phones (analogue/digital/voip etc) that can connect straight into user's Exchange Contacts folder.

The OP may (or may not) already know, several mobile 'phones can, indeed, connect to MS-Exchange (via wi-fi, 3G, GRPS, wet string...).
But unless a wired 'phone has a connection to t'internet, and the required software applications, it's not going to be able to. Apart, maybe, from that bizzare Amstrad thing that appeared, and flopped, a couple of years ago.
In any case, why would you want to? There can't be many land-line 'phones that are installed in places you can't get an internet connection of any kind.

In order to use a 'click to dial' facility. Once you've got this you won't go back. I use it every day but not with Exchange.

I suggest the OP Googles 'astapi'.

But don't you find being forced to remember dozens of 'phone numbers helps sharpen the brain?

Calculators in schools
Stupid signs by the health & safety police - I saw one the other day instructing people how to use stairs "Always hold the handrail when using these stairs" it said - FFS I'm not that stupid!
That stupid recorded message in Tesco "You are near approaching the end of the moving walk-way, please push your trolley forward" - No sh** Sherlock - I was just gonna stand there and see if the trolley moved off by itself!
The last thing we need is another reason not to think about stuff.

I'm with you on dumbing down in general, but not in this particular case.

I find the 6-10 secs between clicking and the call connecting very useful to marshal clear thoughts on the purpose of the call.

Whilst I agree with you in general - I have to say that the couple of bad 'dumbing down' examples you chose may not be the best!

Stairs - loads of people fall down stairs due to not holding the handrail - so obviously some advice must be needed.
Tesco walkway - useful for those unfortunate enough to have little or no sight......

Sorry, but if people are so stupid they've managed to go through life without working out how to climb stairs.....well.
BTW, this was in a petro-chemical laboratory site, so not exactly filled with people of low-average intelligence.

It would be useful for that, yes.
Unfortunately, you can hear the message over the entire length of the escalator, so you still need to be able to see you're at the end, to know when to take notice of the message.

Surely people with little or no sight would be a health & safety risk to themselves, and others, when pushing a large trolley around a two-storey supermarket, and maybe should get some assistance.
If their sight is so poor, they cannot see the end of the escalator/walkway, how are they to avoid hitting other people.
Maybe a message "warning....blind person pushing trolley" should be used?
