It certainly is possible using Windows98 and a good old fashioned dial-up modem set to auto answer incoming calls (and then you need some routing software to route your incoming requests out to the internet via your ADSL)

Needed a bit of research to get it going though - and it ties up your home phone line.

Probably better to find a dial-up ISP who has a geographical dial in number - BT used to have an 0121 number, originally published so that you could use dial up internet from abroad - but it also worked from with the UK.

Line One:- Zen Home 500 - DrayTek Vigor 2600VG
Line Two:- currently Nildam, but looking for a new home - DrayTek Vigor 2600

You may find that if a modem answers, it isn't a voice call, it's a data call, which will be charged, rather than deducted from bundled minutes. Try it and check your billing info afterwards. Even if it is deducted from bundled minutes, your throughput from GSM phone to ordinary analogue modem will be atrocious - I'd expect not much better than 9600 baud, limited by the GSM side of things (Orange does have HSCSD which offers speeds of multiples of 14k4, up to a whole 3*14k4 max, but only in the right circumstances eg with an HSCSD-capable phone and a pure digital link to a compatible dialup ISP, and this isn't one of the right circumstances). But if that's what you want...

If you are within the first 7 days of your new contract surely the Distance Selling regulations give you a chance to change your mind and choose a more appropriate tariff?
