Win98SE network Sys tray Icon

[link to this post]

On my windows XP machines there I get the 2 pc screens network icon in the Sys tray when the network is connected.
But on my win98se machine I can't find anywhere that I can tick to activate the show Icon. Has anyone any ideas please.
Thanks in advance.

I can't remember, but have you looked in Control Panel >> Network Connections and found your internet connection? Right click on it and look around.

I do not think you can add to icon to the Sys tray.

But you can copy it (drag and drop from the control panel) to the Quick Launch toolbar.

There was a connection icon, but IIRC not the 2 pcs (which appeared with WinMe)

How do you get it to appear in the Sys tray?

I really don't remember, but have the idea that it goes with the properties of the connection or the modem bits.
I've been using a router for long enough to have forgotten those sort of details - and anyway the little boxes which appear with ZoneAlarm do a duplicate job as far as showing traffic.

What the OP is asking for would be used with a router.

I still think it can not be done.

Wrong icon - he wants the "connected" one, not the "Launch".
