Wireless Issues - Need some advice please

Hi all

Having an issue with my home setup, got BT Total Broadband downstairs where the BT Master Socket, and in the room directly above I have our 2 PC's, one is using a Belkin 54G Wireless USB Stick the other is using a Netgear 54G Wireless USB stick, I also have an iBook with built in wireless.

Now the issue is, the iBook is fine, you can't knock the hardware, one of the PC's is fine, but only if the other isn't on. It's as if there is a conflict somewhere, I can use the web fine on my Pc, but as soon as I turn the other machine on, despite the Homehub clearly displying the pc's have different IP addresses the the other one drops it's connection with the homehub.

The MAC addresses on the USB keys are different, the IP's given are different (I have tried setting the homehub to statically keep the IP's given to those PC's too) but, as I said, the misses can be happily surfing away on her PC, if I turn mine on and start to surf or whatever her's drops off...

Any ideas?

is this a one way thing ie if A is on B kills it but B can be on and A doesn't affect B ?

Yeah, sorry, I think my explanation was a bit dodgy reading it back, perhaps it was late

PC A is Windows Xp with a Belkin Wireless G USB Adapter (F5D7050)
PC B is Vista Ultimate with a Netgear WG111 v2

PC A will go online no problem on it's own, as too will PC B on it's own.

If PC A is online and a turn on PC B it gets online no problem, but within seconds PC A goes into a loop of being kicked off and back on again.

The signal strength on both PC's is excellent, as I would expect as the Homehub is only 7ft below through wooden floor boards.

I had 2 days worth of problems getting PC B to actually get online in the first place with the wireless network not being seen, or when it is seen it just wouldn't log in to the router. I managed to reolve that though with the last drivers for the Netgear USB.

I'm wondering whether there are some settings that need changing on the Network Adapter properties on each machine or something, but I have to admit my "Wireless Config" knowledge is a little lacking, as I only have previous practical knowledge of my iBook, which kinda just needs switching on and it does it all for you..

Well, it's either an IP address issue, or it's a wireless issue. Can you connect both PC's to the hub by wire, to rule out the wireless ?

Sorry, I neglected to mention, this is a new house Previously, both PC's were wired to the home hub and worked fine.

Same yes.

Although this morning I have been using my PC, the Vista one fine all morning, and now the damn thing just dropped off and won't go back on....

I'm starting to hate USB Wireless adapters with a passion

Out of interest has anyone experienced issues with BT Homehubs not liking ONLY Wireless connections? It's just a thought as this is the first time that nothing has actually been "wired" to the hub, previously I have always had at least 1 PC Cat 5'ed to it.

As soon as i read about this problem it makes me think that the home hub is restricting the amount of wireless connections to it, this type of problem is not normally to do with any of the wireless adapters connected to the computers. Although if the computers are close to eachother in the same room try to move them appart but again i would say its going to be the home hub restricitng the amount of wirless computers connecting to it, i would maybe question BT about this.
