Speedtouch 585 Help Please

Hi, I'm trying to do something that I'm told is possible, but I'm stuck. Here's what I'm trying firstly.

I've two 585v6 routers. I use one of them (lets call it router A) with wired and wireless and this is connected my adsl broadband. This all works wonderfully. The second router (router B), I want to use as follows:

It will be sited around 60 metres away from router A. I have run cat5 cable to router B from router A. I want to have Router B acting just like a wireless switch or hub which just gives wireless internet access and I can have some pcs/laptops connecting to it wirelessly. I had thought it would be as easy asswitching off DHCP on router B which would force it to talk to router A for IP addresses, etc, but it doesn't work. Can anyone give me ny pointers please.

can you turn off the DHCP ?

what addresses and default gateways are given to the wireless clients ?

As well as turning off DHCP you need to ensure that the router B is using a different IP address to that of router A.

Thanks ANdrew, Have you any idea how to change the IP address of router B. Router A is the standard 192.168.1.254, I have no ideea how to change this on router B though. ANy advice would be great, I think this is where I've gone wrong

Go to Home Network, click on Interfaces, then Local Network, you can add a new ip range from there.

Assuming the set-up wizards have not changed massively since the 580 you can do it using the set-up wizard

Thanks again, camm me dense, but I just can'[t get the IP address of Router B changed at all. I've gotten quite angry with it now and am thinking that perhaps there must be a better idea, is there a wireless access point that I could buy that might do the job. ie just take the cat5 and pump out a wireless signal and if so could you recommend one? I found this - Linksys Wireless-G Access Point , and this - D-Link DWL-2100AP W/less Access Point. WOuld they do wa I need pretty much out the box (with really only the security settings to be completed) My thanks again
