Connecting an internet radio...

Hi

has anyone had experience in connecting an internet enabled digital radio to their wireless networ? I have just bought a digital radio which is WI-FI enabled, and able to recieve internet radio stations through my home wireless network.

As yet, I cant get it to connect. The radio is a binatone tranciva IR804. I have enetered the WEP key for my network, and the radio keeps trying to load station lists, but so far with no luck. Has anyone else on here had experience of this? I am using a speedtouch 585v6 to connect through.

First disable security on your wireless network and see if you can get the radio to connect and download stations.

If you can't manage that then you've got bigger problems.

Second, if it can connect with no security, then move to a very basic WEP password, the minimum you can do, see if you can still download stations etc.


Check that the 585v6 is passing out the correct details to the radio, such as DNS servers and IP settings, is DHCP enabled? Does the radio have a preset IP address, is it set-up as a DHCP client etc etc.

what format are you using the wep key in ? you may need to enter the Hex key rather than the passphrase. Is it based on Reciva technology ?

My internet radio is using WEP128 with a Hex key, which was a pain to enter.
