N router?

[link to this post]

A friend has offered me an almost new 'n' standard cable router (Belkin) which he can't use as he's moving to a non-cabled house. Will this work with my old-style 'g' wirelesscards/dongles? In other words, is this new standard backwards compatible? I don't mind upgrading my main lappy with an 'n' card, but don't really want to do all three.
