I am hoping for some help. I am trying to connect my home computer- with MS XP SP3 to my sons xbox over a wireless connection. The computer and the xbox can both connect to the internet fine. Howeve the computer cannot "see" the xbox so configuring "sharing" in windows Media Player 11. I have hunted for help without success on the cbox website and MS media player help site.
I think the problem maybe I am using XP SP3 and not SP2. Surely there is a way for this to work??? or do I have to revert to SP2?
The router is a Netgear DG834gv3 and works ok- very reliable but only 2.4mbits/sec using AOL.

Hi, this will help you connect the Xbox to your PC, configure with a static IP Address for each device wired and wireless.

I found a clue to the problem and dived into services.msc and turned off then back on all plug and play and microsoft network options.
Success.
The media player and xbox connected straight away after reboot and can now stream audio and video files.
