Netgear WGR614v10 as a WAP

[link to this post]

Im trying to extend wifi coverage in my house using a Netgear WGR614v10 as a WAP.

The main router is a Netgear DG384 from which internet access is distributed through the house using a LAN made up of a Netgear XAV101 and two XAV1004s and a wifi network.

Im trying to extend the range of the wifi network using a WGR614 plugged into a XAV1004 at the furthest end of the house.

I can now connect to the internet using wifi from the furthest room in the house. The problem is that there appear to be two NETGEAR wifi networks in the house - the original secured one from the DG384 and an unsecured one from the WGR614.

How can I combine the two wifi networks into one that covers the house seamlessly (such that I can walk from one end to the other with an iPhone or laptop) and keep it secure throughout?

Thanks in advance.

Set up the WGR614 on a different channel to the DG384.
Then set it to use the same SSID, the same security protocol, and the same security key.
