In 1 quote it states BT does do LLU but in another Quote it states BT does not do LLU, therefore I now understand that BT only does LLU ADSL2+, if that is the case we do not have it at our Exchange, we only have up to 8mbps (Max).
It seems very strange that BT does not do it themselves but does allow other Providers to supply their own equipment to get much faster speeds, I would have thought that BT would have done it until they upgraded their exchanges to ADSL2+
I'm not sure but it seems you may be getting confused between LLU and ADSL2+. ADSL2+ are not one in the same.
LLU (i.e. non-BT companies who've chosen to install their own equipment into the BT telephone exchanges and have paid BT to patch phone lines through to that equipment, rather than having the lines connected to BT's ADSL equipment) and LLU providers (e.g. BE, Talk-Talk, Sky, etc.) often chose to use ADSL2+ but also use plain old ADSL1.
BT (via the BT Wholesale ADSL equipment in the exchanges) also offer both ADSL2+ (on certain exchanges) and ADSL1 on all exchanges (exception the odd few).
BT's ADSL2+ is not an LLU product. It's their own product.
In order for BT to offer their own LLU product, that would need to be a BT retail product and installed in the BT exchanges (which are owned and operated by a different division of BT) in the same way as Sky, BE, Talk-Talk etc. install their own equipment.
If you count BT as a single entity (even though it's been "split" into several divisions / sub-companies) they cannot offer an LLU product because the 'u' stands for unbundled (which would require BT to unbundle their services from the BT equipment in the exchanges, and then bundle it straight back whence it came).
If you're after ADSL2+ there are two ways of getting this: -
1. Via BT's WBC/21CN product (which isn't available at your exchange).
2. Via an LLU provider (i.e. a non-BT company).
Apologies if I've read your posts incorrectly and you're not confused about LLU and ADSL2+.
You may have just been asking if BT install their own equipment in exchanges and transfer lines from their own equipment to their own equipment (which would be kind of pointless really).
