can you confirm the following please (forget about router lights and assumptions for now).

1. connect wirelessly then navigate to a web page that you have not visited before. (this will eliminate the chance of the page being stored in your cache).

disconnect your router from the modem. and the router from the pc; so there is no connection

open a command prompt

type ipconfig /release


reconnect the modem / router etc.

type ipconfig /renew



Go to your control panel and locate admin tools. restart your dns and dhcp servers
ensure that - wired auto config is set to automatic


btw. you can close that command prompt.



check to see if you are still getting a 169.254 apipa address.
