Belkin F5D8636-4 v2 change modulation

good morning all, you are now this routers last chance of a happy life

the title says it all really, i need to change the modulation from Gdmt to the 99 something setting for ADSL2+, trouble is the option isnt shown anywhere.

i found out that alot of belkin routers have hidden pages and tried every single page listed here http://www.kitz.co.uk/routers/belkin_commands.htm with no luck.

i have tried software and full hardware resets in the hope the problem sorts itself but still no luck.

my ISP is zen and has been for the past 4+ years without any issues at all, my local exchage has recently been upgraded to allow ADSL2+ and zen have completed my upgrade from 8Mbps to 20Mbps

any ideas to save this router from a good old fashioned beating?

If it hasn't got an option it should automatically use ADSL2+.

Any chance of borrowing another modem and seeing if you have the same problem?

i have my old belkin modem but its not ADSL2+ compatible, but there is an option there to change modulation type but its too old for what i need.

the old modem used to sync at the same speed as the new one, even after the service upgrade.

I do not think this is an ADSL2+ (24M) modem, just adsl (8M). Did you get this working any higher?

it is an adsl2+ modem, its plastered all over the box stating so, wouldnt have brought it otherwise. anyways it does detect modulation automatically and theres nothing you can do about it

but luckily its started detecting properly after swapping the micro filter that came with it back to the one i was using before.
