bt infinity - is it fully fibre optic

I was told it's not fully fibre otpic. It's only fibre optic up to the street cabinet is this true?

How about inside the telephone exchange?

Copper between cabinet and your home, fibre for everything else.

You can't guarantee there aren't parts in the BT network which use copper. Cat5/6 cable, whatever. Not that it makes any difference to us.

Two types of infinity,

FTTC - fibre to the cabinet
FTTH - fibre to the home

The FTTC is a lot more widely available at this time, and is probably what you are referring to. Some areas like Milton Keynes have a mixture of the two available, as will Cornwall.

BTW even the ADSL services are fibre based already once they hit the exchange equipement.
