Could someone recommend a new Netgear router please?

I have an old 834G2 and it is many years old and has been erratic recently. I'm going to buy a new modem router from the Trafford Centre later, I'm not (too) worried about the supplier but I don't want to spend more than £80 - I have simple needs. I know I could trawl the forums but it's a quick ask before I go shopping; I'd appreciate recommendations. Ta!

What functions do you need?

Wireless? and Standard
100Mb or 1Gb Ethernet?
ADSL2+? but capable of a WAN input for FTTC?

Give us some clues and advice might be more appropriate.

Why Netgear?

If you plan on making a retail purchase at a bricks and mortar shop your choice will be severely limited!

I guessed the price point would be a clue and then the most I could buy for it? No?

In my honest opinion regardless of the over all need, there's one clear option for performance and price, i did a lot of research before buying this my self, as the one provided by my ISP was rubbish.

EnGenius ESR9850

It have 4 gigabit Ethernet ports and has a very high Wan to Lan throughput around 650 Mbits, it also has a very strong WLAN throughput and very strong wireless range and reception and over the network wireless transfer speeds upto about 350 Mbits, All in all a brilliant router and it cost me £30 of ebay but new you will pay about £60 with PnP.

I know a shop limits and I like Netgear because it's been a good device. I'm not into the technical stuff, I don't really understand it, I just want the best Netgear Modem Router for around £80 that I can walk into a shop and buy within a few hours.
