Strange Wifi Issues

The connection speed my ISP gives me is around 15 - 20 Mbps which I what I get when connected via ethernet (wired).

But my problem is when I connect wirelessly. I have uploaded a video of the speed I get most of the time when connected to the wireless router here.

When doing the test, I was about 2 metres away from the router. I have tried all the obvious: changing the router position to just about everywhere, tried every wireless channel, updated firmware etc. I even bought a dual band router thinking the 2.4 GHz frequency might be saturated in my neighbourhood but it was the same slow speed on 5 GHz

Bizarrely, if I'm streaming something on the TV via iPlayer or downloading a large file on one computer, if a do a speed test on another laptop or iPhone, the speed is what it should be.

Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem might be?

what is the operating system on the slow computer ?

Windows or iOS (iPhone) basically anything I connect via wireless seems slow. It's like the signal is too strong or something.

this is a wireless broadband service ?? ie wireless to your house.

A strong signal usually allows faster speeds, not slower. Is it set with encryption, have you tried different settings eg WPA2 Personal. What type of router is it.

Just thought I post that I've resolved the issue if anyone else has these problems.

I disabled 'WMM' in the router wireless settings.

"WMM function can guarantee the packets with high- priority messages being transmitted preferentially. It is strongly recommended enabled."

Now I have a decent wireless speed on all devoices connected.
