O2's TG582n Modem/router Port Forwarding issue?

Currently I bought an IP Camera which requires to Port Forward its Port 81 so that it can be ready for Internet access. However, despite I have followed the relevant TG582n instructions and believed to have port-forwarded the IP camera's IP address, port 81(no errors reported by my router), this Port 81 is still not "opened" when I checked it on-line with a few Port-Forward on-line checkers. This TG582n Modem/router has 8.4.4.J F/W installed.

Has anyone comes across similar problem before, or is it something to do with its F/W version?? Thanks

Yes, I gave up and used a third party router instead, the Thompson/Technicolour routers are a pain to configure, I prefare a product that will work as I want it to, and if that cannot be done without jumping though hoops,it belongs in the bin or skip with all the others that have been returned by customers who have jumped ship

there is a 3rd party piece of software that configures the port forwarding for you if i am not mistaken

just the gui for the router is [censored] and flakey

Thank you for replying! So using the TG582n router's own application, installed with current F/W as indicated, for Port-Forwarding is NOT helpful??

they are not worth the hassle for lan side configuration

if you want simple router with wireless and nat then this is it, it is not designed to be messed about with
