Monitor internet use per device at home?

Hi,

I have an issue with BT claiming that the monthly data usage on an infinity connection is very high (around 60Gb a month). Having checked all devices on the LAN etc, the data usage is more like 10Gb a month. I need to be able to monitor better the data usage of each device on the LAN.

So� given that these days there are PC�s/Android/Apple/Xbox/TV ect devices all using the same connection, I want to be able to monitor internet data usage based on IP or MAC address in a home environment. The current router in use is the standard BT
Home Hub, so I want to replace it with a router that can provide details on data usage per device (without requiring a Syslog Server etc.).

Anyone have any suggestions of routers that can do this? Or maybe some device you can put in line to monitor?

Networx can only see the traffic on a single PC at a time, just like tbbMeter

Some routers do have ability to track usage over time

I think that the Asus with Merlin firmware can monitor traffic on a port basis (and maybe by IP), but someone who's installed it would need to comment about what it can actually do.

No. Networx can show all external Internet traffic from all networx enabled PC's on the local network.

Aha they have built in SNMP support to talk to the router

So if router supports SNMP you should be able to do it

I have multiple PC's and desktops on my local Lan, here is a readout:- Networx

Networx looks interesting as per your screenshot, but does it monitor only PC's?
Is it installed on each PC? I's really after something to monitor traffic from any device irrelevant of O/S to I can track down any high use device on my LAN.
