Daisy-chaining routers for better performance

Hi all,

I have TalkTalk Fibre broadband.

I was wondering whether daisy-chaining the following routers would improve the range and the speed at peripheral areas of my house.

TalkTalk D-Link 3780 (wireless)
TalkTalk Echolife HG532 (wireless)
TalkTalk Echolife HG520s (wireless)
iBall Baton (see below for information)

Would daisy-chaining them help at all?

If using them as wireless access points then yes improved wireless coverage is possible

Is it possible to have wireless access points that do NOT have a physical connection (ethernet cable) between the router and the access point device?

Yes called repeaters or wireless range extenders, but half the wireless speeds

Much better to have wired between them...

It's probably a bad idea to use all 4 routers. That's likely to result in the signals overlapping with one another and add excessive interference.

You probably only need two routers to cover a decent sized property.

The talk talk supplied router on fibre is wireless AC and uses 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz bands. As a result it's likely to be far better than your other routers which may not be able to handle the full fibre speeds wirelessly (worth considering). So you may see full signal on those routers but nowhere near the full fibre speeds.
