Re: Problem with tp-link powerline adapter.

Using http://www.thinkbroadband.com/speedtest.html will let others see the graph of speeds which will help understand what you are seeing

What model is your broadband router and powerline plugs?

It is rare but using a different port on the router may help

Sora - as ukhardy says, I suspect the problem lies with your broadband bandwidth and not the Homeplugs.

To check, try and borrow a long-enough Cat5 cable to reach to where the HP is and see what happens to wifi speeds whe you connect that.

my router is the newest one from sky and the model number is SR102.
My powerlinee is tp-link av500 and the model is pa4030kut.

i have tested my speed on this site and it comes up fine and says im getting 30+mbps but on speedtest.net its still saying its really slow and when trying to download something it is also slow. i tried to download a 50mb test file which should take around 14 seconds but its taking 7 minutes.

i have also tried different routers of the same model and its the same.

thanks

That looks reasonable and no sign of a major problem

Thats what i thought but if i try it on another speed test website it drops to under 5 and downloads are taking forever even though it says it fine on the think broadband website.

Here is another two when it actually showed a drop on this websites speed test. It's like this and lower more often than not on other speed tests.

Which look like something else is using the connection or there is something else going on like a faulty switch/cable

Can you take the ps4 to the router, connect direct with ethernet cable and not homeplugs. Turn it on as you do when it slows things down... Is it still slowing down the WiFi?
