Strange Router Problem

Hello All,

Am hoping someone can help with an irksome broadband issue. In summary, we lose internet connection every few days and can only regain it by rebooting the router. We've tried three diffent routers and have recently changed from BT ADSL to Xilo FTTC, but still the problem remains exactly the same. WiFi seems unaffected as the router can still be accessed from a laptop, but not the internet.

Routers should cope with all eventualities in terms of the broadband dropping sync and needing to reconnect, so its odd to have three behave badly - what were the three devices tried so far?

The fact it remains after switching to FTTC suggests probably not down to the line or xDSL, but could be a stale session problem at the ISP end and the longer downtime from a reboot fixes this. Next time try just unplugged the VDSL2 cable for 10 minutes.

Which routers?

Do you have a separate modem as well?
