I have a preferred way to set up DHCP on home and small office routers where large numbers of devices are unlikely to be connected.

I will tend to set the allocatable range from .40 to .160 - allows for 120 devices. For devices that prefer a fixed local IP then choose .17x; for Wireless Access Points .18x; managed switches .24x; put NAS drives down in the .2x range.

Don't allocate anything in the .000 to .009 and .250 to .255 blocks as often routers can use those for their own needs and leaving them clear means you are not introducing any potential conflicts.
