IPsec on Billion 8800nl router

I recently bought a new mobile phone with Wi-Fi calling. Unfortunately I found that this would not work using my Billion 8800nl router, On the Billion website forum I found a solution, which was to diable IPsec on the router and Wi-Fi calling now works perfectly.
My question is what, if any, are the downsides of disabling IPsec on this router?
