Mesh Wifi and NAS

Hi folks,

Is it possible to attach a USB or NAS drive to any of the MESH Wifi systems (Netgear, TP LInk, Linksys, BT etc. . .)?

I want to replace my ageing Apple Time Capsule with a Mesh system but still use Apple's Time Machine for wireless backups.

Also are there any Mesh systems that are combined modem and router, or are they all routers only and need to be wired to a modem?

The Asus router range has support for TimeMachine through the USB3 port, and also does their own AiMesh. The downside is this combination is likely to be more expensive than say the BT WholeHome mesh system. What you could do is buy an Asus router and if coverage is poor, add later a BT WholeHome mesh system or Asus AiMesh routers to add on.

Depends which broadband you have, I use FTTC / VDSL and have an external modem with an Asus router. The Asus routers with built in DSL (ADSL or VDSL) are not as good. The BT WholeHome is a mesh system you add on to an existing router.
