Powerline with Interface

[link to this post]

Hi All,

Currently using Solwise 1200 piggy's for adapters, but would like something equivalent speeds, but with an Interface. Has anyone tried some popular makes that come with an App or Web interface?

Thanks in advance.

Powerline adapters aren't configurable and so I'm not sure what the interface would do. I've never seen one that can do this.

TP-Link have a utility that talks to adapters, but it is very basic. You can name them, turn on a power saving mode, turn the leds off and there's a a QoS setting that offers the options Internet, Audio or Video, Online games or VoIP as the highest priority.

Most powerline adaptors use a chipset from Qualcomm Atheros, there are various versions of the chipset. That means you can use the generic PowerPacketUtility with most of them. Some vendors tweak this utility, and add their logos etc.

The solwise site has a download:

The interfaces will let you see the link speeds, which can be useful in determining which is the best socket speed wise in a room.

I hope you're replying to TTTJ rather than myself, as I posted the link. I do know the point of the utility, or "interface" if the OP means that as shorthand for UI. Better than the coloured LEDs.

I haven't seen any that have a web interface, if that is what the OP means by the generic term "interface".

Most people will probably be better off with an AC WiFi mesh these days.
