New Modem Router

I am with Plusnet using the supplied Hub One. In general the connection is rock solid, with good speeds but sometimes web pages stall or take time to load. On a couple of PCs I've switched to google DNS servers and thats improved those PC's tremendously.

Now with the WFH there are a lot more connected devices (5 adults all with a range of 'stuff') , PCs/Laptops/Mobiles/TVs etc I thought I'd invest in a 'better' Modem/Router. The network at home is a mixture of Cat 5, (TP link) powerline plugs and Wifi.

My shortlist is the TP-LINK Archer VR2800 WiFi Modem Router - AC 2800 circa £160 or the
Netgear Nighthawk X4S D7800 AC2600 Modem Router circa £220.

I don't really need anything sophisticated just secure fast and reliable all round.

Any comments on those or have I missed a good one ?

I'm on FTTC 80/20 with no signs of FTTH though I'd happily pay for it...

Both are great routers, you won't be disappointed with either. The VR2800 is probably the slightly better of the two, purely down to the new-ish Broadcom dsl chipset it uses.
