Home to Stables / Gym Connection - Completed!

[link to this post]

Hey all,

I wanted to update you all with the progress of our mission to install internet to our Gym / Stables 100m+ from our home! (Thread: https://forums.thinkbroadband.com/multiuser/f/468098...

We have on-going electrical work taking place at the moment which made this an ample opportunity to combine the tech.

Using:
- 2x TP-Link Media Converters
- 2x Ubiquity SFP Modules
- 100m Steel Armoured Pre-terminated FC Fibre Cable
- 8 Port Netgear Switch

* A massive thank you Pheasant, who pretty much scoped everything out materials wise and who i couldn't of done this without... i wanted to run 100m of copper...).

I thought there was an image missing from your set but I found a copy online.

Inspiring to see your work and tidy jobs tend to look like something that was always part of the original construction.

with IP4/6 (no v6? - not true Internet)

The blessing of the rain before this heatwave was that it allowed us to plant a decent amount of grass seed to cover up the earth works.

It's future fit now anyway, if we ever need 10GB there etc, we just need to upgrade the converters.

Well it looks like a simplex connection so, nah 25Gbps capable to day

Had you installed duplex cable it would be 100Gbps capable as I discovered the other week

https://www.fs.com/uk/products/65219.html

I still went for SR4 optics in the end as even with super expensive MTP fibre cables it was still cheaper as it is only a short ~15m run.
