Slower speed over ethernet than over wifi - why?

I have G.Fast from BT and a Home Hub 2

When I use a speed checker on my iPhone 7 I get 120-150Mbps down

When I then do the same test on my Ethernet (cat7 cable) connected Win10 PC I get 80Mbps

Upload speed is typically 20Mbps on both, but the PC periodically drops to 8Mbps

The Ethernet adapter on the PC is set to 1000Mbps

When I run the test on the BT wholesale tester https://speedtest.btwholesale.com/ and do an advanced test it tells me the IP profile for download is 73Mbps which as far as I can make out from the help file is effectively a limit on the speed, although I that were the case I shouldn't be able to get the much faster speeds through wifi.

Any suggestions on what's going on here gratefully received. Specifically, I want to get the faster speed on the PC

First of all, what sync rates does the router show your line is achieving ?

Go to the routers web interface http://192.168.1.254 from a browser window , then advanced settings, then technical log (the next page will require the routers admin password to access) … in the details displayed after, you should see something like this ….

Data rate:49.115 Mbps / 329.068 Mbps
Maximum data rate:53.031 Mbps / 354.888 Mbps

Please post back what yours says please … if it really is 73Mbps …, then you shouldn’t be using g.Fast which might be part of the issue.

If the sync rates shown are OK, the next suggestion might be something like antivirus software on your PC.

Down sync 60mbps
Up sync 25 mbps

There's something seriously off here. I've got an Open Reach engineer booked for Tuesday but they've been out before and I don't have a great degree of confidence.
