Can I Use My Own Router With BT FTTP

[link to this post]

Hi I am getting BT full fibre installed this week on Wednesday

Quick question will I be able to connect my netgear r7800 directly to the ONT?

Without having to use the smarthub

Yes but only the BT Smart Hub 2 (or later, when they arrive?) does BT Digital Voice when the time comes to be switched unless you plan to roll your own VOIP.

I've just had to switch from a Netgear D7000 for this reaon.

You can use whatever you like, within reason, so long as it supports a PPPoE client. It doesn’t even need to be a router. It could be your laptop for example, say if you were testing.
