Have been struggling with this one for a while and hope somebody may be able to offer some advice.
I have a three node mesh network using Fritzbox 7530 routers installed at a remote site and I want to be able to access all three boxes from home to support them.
I have set up MyFritz sharing on the mesh master and can access that with no problems. If I set up MyFritz sharing for either of the mesh repeaters, using the HTTPS server option to define the device I wish to port share with, I have discovered that whichever of the two routers I configure first gets allocated port 443 and I can connect to this perfectly as well. The second mesh repeater clearly cannot use port 443 too, so I use another port number – say 8443 – but this fails to connect. Closer inspection has revealed that the address that is uploaded to the MyFritz account is still set to port 443 even though I have manually selected port 8443.
If I reverse the order in which I configure the two repeaters, I can successfully connect to the second one but then not the first. This shows there is nothing wrong with the software or hardware of either of the two mesh repeaters themselves as both work perfectly as long as they are the first configured.
It seems to me the problem is that the Fritzbox mesh repeater is listening for connections on port 443 even if it is configured to share using another port. Is there any way in which the Fritzbox can be re-configured to listen for HTTPS connections on a different port number?
I have a temporary workaround by setting up the second mesh repeater as an HTTP server and then port sharing using port 80. This works fine and I have remote access to all three nodes currently. However, I have another 7530 that I am shortly going to introduce to the network as a third mesh repeater and so need to find a solution that will allow me remote access to all 4 boxes.
