Can't reach the Internet at the moment

This should be sent to Google Community but you can't post to it. All you get are more suggestions when you press ask the community button; not open a dialog to post a question!!!

I have an non smart TV, Sony KDL-37EX403, and a Google Chromecast TV Device plugged into HDMI 1 on the TV.

I can get a screen showing many shows but not what I want; Joojs Holland on More 4 on model railways.

Usi g my TV remoteb select "Search" and get a dialog at top left. I type in "rail" then the go button when I get the message:-

"Can't reach the Internet at the moment..."

There are two strong, 2.4G and 5G, wifi signals in the room.

How do I get internet on the device?

Note I also can't get Google Home on my tablet to see device; white LED is on.

I use Chromecast everyday; my Audio Pro A38 talks to my phone via the 2.4G wifi in that room.

Any advice please?

C4 apps, channels and programmes are not available directly on Chromecast. Presumably unable to cut a deal that is satisfactory to both.

However you can still use the C4 app on your phone and cast to your Chromecast dongle and watch that way,

Used my Google tv dongle.

Found that it only worked when connected d to the same access point, not just the same network, as the dongle. It did not work if I connected the dongle to 2.4G and tablet to 5G.

Draytek WAP has both 2.4 and 5G.

Still working now.

Which internet provider and router do you have?

That's strange effect, as I was sure the Hub 3 was one network with two WiFi's. Traditionally it was a BT Hub 4 that set up two separate networks, so devices on 5 GHz couldn't see devices on 2.4 GHz, but that isn't how WiFi or home networking is designed to work.

Unless you are using a "Guest" feature there should be no difference in networking if you are on 2.4 or 5 GHz.
