Deco x20 keeps disconnecting

Deco x20 keep randomly disconnecting. When it does disconnect the WiFi signal shows up as being very poor but it returns to being good again if you turn WiFi off and on.

The device that keeps disconnecting is my laptop which I believe isn't WiFi 6 compatible.

Now turning off seamless roaming does seem to fix this.

I was wondering will I have the same problem with other Wifi 6 routers?

Have you checked to make sure you have the latest Firmware?

I have an old ORBI RBK53 and had to turn off Enable Fast Roaming to make my wifi stable, even though I didn't see any difference with it enabled.

Older Wi-Fi clients may not support all aspects of fast/seamless roaming so as long as you have at least one client with this behaviour, you may have to turn it off on the Wi-Fi access point (or group of APs).

It is normally a per-SSID setting meaning if your Wi-Fi setup support multiple networks advertised it can be on for most clients and off for those using a "network for older devices".

So it's not a fault of the AP per-se.

Have you updated the Wi-Fi driver of your laptop?

Are you on the latest Deco firmware? There's a fix there for certain Intel Wi-Fi cards.
