eero 6 Pro as router is blocking port forwarding

[link to this post]

Hi all,

Long story short .... before the weekend I had an eero 6 Pro mesh system acting as a bridge to a TP-Link router and everything (particularly bittorrents and all the associated port forwarding) was working fine. Over the weekend (fuelled by my continual annoyance at the TP-Link randomly dropping the WAN connection, bringing down the LAN in the process, and refusing to get it back unless it was turned off for several hours !!!!) I decided to take the TP-Link out the equation and use the eero as the router (feeding an umanaged switch). I am 99.5% sure I copied over all the IP reservation, port forwarding and firewall rules, but now my torrents are unable to connect to any tracker frown

Does anyone know of any issues with the eero in this regard ?

Or, if there are issues, does anyone have a recommendation for a router that is not as bad as the TP-Link ? Doesn't even have to be a wi-fi router (though I know those are are as rare as rocking horse poo now) - it just needs to be able to connect to a 1Gb fibre service and have at least one 1Gb LAN port on it.

TIA for any help.

UPDATE:

If I connect up to the old TP-Link router I see that it doesn't actually have any port forwarding / firewall rules on it AT ALL (yet torrents are back working again) which is just even weirder

And even weirder, the eero (as the router) has no issue when I use a bittorrent client on my Windows PC !!! It just doesn't like it when I use "Download Station" on my Synology NAS drive
