I haven't received this e-mail, perhaps because BTW still are only reporting 1000 as maximum speed in my area?

I've signed up anyway as I've been waiting for this. The link does appear to be on the Zen front page now too.

I'm on CityFibre, in an area that a few weeks ago had fibre installed by Openreach contractors. And yesterday Openreach connected a house across the road - it has a new CBT by the front door.

A CBT is a connectorised block terminal and is a point where many individual connections are made , it is part of the network and fitted in advance of any orders for FTTP , and very unlikely to be on a house wall , typically they exist at a pole top or in an underground joint box, a CSP is the point at where an individual connection from a CBT is terminated at the customers property , and the transition ( via an optical splice ) from an external optical cable to an internal optical cable is made …

OK. I used the wrong initials; the box appeared on the wall after Openreach had been but its all underground here so I don't know what is in the chamber.
(As an aside, someone sideswiped the CityFibre cabinet a few days ago, despite it being a metre or so from the kerb, so that's been replaced. My connection was unaffected.)
