Technicolor DGA4135 Router VPN Settings

[link to this post]

Does anyone know where in the DGA4135 router settings I can find the VPN settings ?
Limited information online states that this router supports VPN client/server scenarios (L2TP/IPSec
PPTP OpenVPN) but try as I might I am unable to find these settings in the menu.
Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you

I was going to suggest looking in the manual. I discovered that the manufacturer is now called vantiva, but a search of their site revealed no link to a manual or even to the router. All they had to offer was 'solutions' , services and caring. And you know when a company offers those things, there is a technical team struggling behind a huge wall of marketing. So, sorry, no help.

Thanks for taking an interest in my post. Indeed, as you have confirmed, there appears to be no manual, but plenty of marketing. I'm not sure that a technical team exists at Vantiva or even Technicolor. The suppliers (Daisy Telecom) can only point me to the 'quick start' guide and datasheet which are no use whatsoever. Regards Leslie

Hi, thanks for your interest and my apologies for the delay in responding.

The WAN services section has three tabs:

Port Mapping - allows an IPv4 port forwarding table to be set up

DynDNS - allows enabling and configuration of dynamic dns

Settings - has the option to configure a DMZ and switch NAT on/off

I've come to the conclusion that I'm wasting my time trying to set up remote vpn access with this router and in fact I've gone back to my original Draytrek 2865. Had to enable and configure the WAN2 port as an ethernet port to connect to the ONT and then just configure the PPPoE settings. It's what I should have at the start. I'm still using the technicolor DGA4135 router purely as a wireless access point as the one thing it is good at is providing comprehensive wifi coverage of our new premises.

However, I would recommend keeping clear of the DGA4135. The Draytek 2865 is vastly superior.
