Hi. I wondered whether anyone can help? Having a bit of a nightmare with my home network.
We have Voneus fibre and in order to gain external access to our NAS I ordered a static IP address. They implemented this yesterday and told me the "public facing IP address was xxx.xx.xx.xx and I just need to reboot router for it to work. I did that but no internet. The person who set it up at their end is apparently the only one who can help and he's now gone off until Tues.
I have reset the router many times, configured PPP settings, changed IP to static and entered the address I was given, changed DNS servers to static (8888 /8844). Unplugged for hours, rebooted but no luck.
I have also used automatic settings IE default to allow IP settings to be assigned automatically but this does t seem to work.
I know a bit about networking but clearly not enough so any help would be really great. I could save my marriage 😃
