Once the developer returns the contract everything should be in place by June 2019, it cant come soon enough! Though part of me would have liked to have the full quote so i can see where the £4600 came from.

The when and where checker has finally updated to "design", its going to be a long 12 months especially as my ADSL connection has deteriorated. i wonder if a G.Fast pod will be installed at the same time? in my head it makes sense to do it while there's engineers there anyway.

Of the 80,000+ cabinets have not seen one yet get the G.fast pod installed at the same time as the VDSL2 twin so its a nice dream and no more.

the cabinet is now in and just waiting to be connected, March seems so far away.
Plus something must have happened during the groundwork's that knocked the REIN source out for a week so i managed to get the speed my line could get rather than half.

Almost there now, the cabinet is in and down as available on the Openreach website.

FTTPoD shows as an option on the wholesale checker but theres no VDSL speeds listed. any idea what the timescale is for the speeds to appear and ordering to become an option?

The openreach website says "your in a superfast area, but cant order a service at this time" for various properties on the estate.

This normally happens when a line is connected to a vdsl cabinet but too far (>1500m) to get a useable service. Obviously the distance limitations don't apply to FTTPoD.

If you're 100% sure that the new cabinet is located less than 1500m away from you - cabling distance, not LoS distance - then wait for a couple of weeks for the checker to update. If it still hasn't updated in that time, then it points to a database error (not unheard of) and probably worth pinging Mr S with your details who can prod Openreach/BT to fix this.

Have you checked some properties nearer to the cabinet on the wholesale checker? if VDSL speeds are showing for those properties but not yours then I would suspect distance is the cause.

[Edit] agree with baby_frogmella it could also be a database error

Its more likely to be a database error, the PCP is about a 200m cable run from me and the VDSL twin is right next to it.

Hopefully the REIN problems around here will have less impact on the VDSL, but ill expect the impacted figures rather than the clean figures, whenever the Wholesale checker updates.
