Difference Avonline and Tooway

Hi,

Can anyone explain the difference between Tooway and Avoneline as Satellite broadband providers.

Avonline seem to be offering a 3.6mb service for £24.99 a month, Tooway offer a 6mb service for the same price but at the bottom of the Tooway website it says "Tooway broadband from Avonline plc"

I'm confused!

check the small details - they may be reselling services off different satellite (neither company runs the satellite service itself)

tooway are the trading name of Skylogic and have some stunning products for internet connection in hard to reach places. Tooway do not deal directy with customers but have a route to market through a dealer/distributor channel. Some have decided the best way to market is to bamboozle prospective customers by calling themselves Tooway IE Direct, Broadband, 10Mbps.
I found a really good company in middle England who are straight talking, professional and offer fixed installation pricing on all tooway products (SKYLOGIC). Check the small print on all the offers from the "tooway" crowd. And be careful of the Additional charges if its not a standard install.
The company I found is notspot broadband and can be found on dot com. Give them a call.

the difference in price can sometimes be down to the contention ratios that the re-sellers offer. they run off the same satellite systems but can offer different prices as there sharing ratios increase. one could share you system with a ratio of 1/50 then the cheaper option could share it between 1/100...if we are talking about a few Mbps here then this is important to consider and ask when purchasing your VSAT system. If you want a high quality system which is reliable look for systems which use the newer KA-band technology, the equipment costs are cheaper and the dish itself is smaller.
