Speed Required for HD Streaming

I have the opportunity to get upto 20Mb download speeds using a small local ISP company which uses Fibre to The Mast (FTTM) technology. Speed options I can choose from are 5, 10 or 20 Mbps. What do people recommend is the minimum requirement for streaming HD movies with 5.1 Sound. There are no other users in the house except my wife who only uses broadband for general surfing and e-mails. Any comments greatly appreciated.

All depends on how the provider managers its backhaul capacity.

5Meg should manage 80% of internet HD feeds, 10 Mbps all of them, if they provider has capacity to cope with people doing this at peak time.

Many factors are here to affect this-
How many devices are running in your home that are simultaneously streaming.?
But there is no hard and fast figure because of fluctuations in the congestion on the internet.
