Neos

Has anyone taken out a service directly from Neos?

I'll have to chase through my PM/DMs as I recall a bloke had done so, just over a year ago.

Thanks

I’ve been touch with an account director at Neos Networks and have some pricing back for DIA on wires only delivery using the existing Openreach tails into the building.

They’re still quoting a 60-day lead time which is a bit puzzling, given the tails are already there. That may just be their standard terms, so will check to see if it can be improved.

Any thoughts or experiences on service delivery / service wrap? I know they’re a huge wholesale provider, so am pretty confident they’ll deliver a technically high standard of service and be around for a while. Just wondering what they’re like to deal with management / billing / service maintenance / install etc wise?

Although we had very favourable pricing back from Neos, once their draft contract came through there were several clauses buried deep within the presumably standard looking (26 page) DIA order contract which killed any potential deal for us:

1. recurring charges would be increased (but not decreased) on an annual basis by RPI + up to 4%
2. the charges can be varied by them at any time, with 30 days notice
3. charges were payable quarterly in advance

The last one is painful (for cashflow) and some degree of credit risk, but is not unheard of in wholesale telecoms. The first two are just cheeky in my opinion, erode completely any potential savings from switching but reflect the [censored] economic conditions / business times we are in I suppose.

Glad we didn't sign up!
