Smallworld Media

Hi

I live in the Lancaster area, and have Smallworld Media cable running down the street. (Used to be Omnie, then Wight Cable). I am temnpted to try their broadband/phone provision as this would give me a much faster internet access. (I am presently with Tiscali.) I cannot find any recent feedback on their service. Is there anybody out there using them, and if so how is their customer service, and how good is their product?

Yep, already read this, But I am looking for more upto date information, To find out if users are generally happy now, I think this happened 2007, also it was there ADSl service, rather than there cable,

The first time I encountered a comment about SmallWorld/WightCable it was negative (in 2003-4), since then I've heard plenty more the same, never a dissenting voice.

Not restricted to technical either - one person of my acquaintance had his bank account cleared when SW didn't bother to put the decimal point in their DD request - sure he got it back after about a week, but that's the level of quality you're proposing dealing with.

Yep This is what has been putting me off Omne/Wightcable/Smallworld. Not only that, but the TV package they offer does not yet offer PVR type functionality, which means that you are paying money for a worse system than Freeview. I don't want lots of channels, but I do want to watch TV programmes when I want to, not when the scheduler does. (I am not even sure if they are supporting High Definition.)

But when cable is already installed down the street, it does seem crazy not to be using it. In theory it should be better than ADSL. So I was hoping I would get some positive feedback from happy users, which would convince me to change to them for my broadband and my phone.
