Post office broadband again!!!!

[link to this post]

Asked about having interleaving turned off on my Mums broadband and got this reply,!!!!!

" Thank you for your email to the Post Office HomePhone and Broadband
regarding the possibility of having the Broadband interleaving turned
off your phone line.

Can you please describe exactly what you mean as I can not decide on
what you mean?

If you require any further assistance you can contact Me, Alternatively
you can contact us on 0845 600 3210. Calls may be recorded, monitored
and used for training and compliance purposes. "

I have lost all hope of living!! Oh why did the post office decide to do broadband I dont know,STICK TO SELLING STAMPS!Maybe thats there tech support, when you phone up maybe you get through to an actual Post office counter.LOL.What shall I do next I wonder, any thoughts?Maybe ask them to get BT wholesale to phone me! Do I really have to explain it all to them?

EDIT,

Just sent the guy this,

" Interleaving will probably have to be turned off by BT Wholesale basically most ISP's give you the option to turn it on or off,we would like it OFF as when its on it resticts online gaming as BT say " BT state that interleaving can increase latency by an additional 20-40ms ".So having it off is better for playing online games. Please can you enquire about interleaving being turned off for us.
If you want to have a read of this which explains Interleaving if your interested,

Perhaps it would have been better not to mention interleaving in the same sentence as phone line. It has no meaning as far as a phone engineer is concerned.

Just had this email back,so there is hope after all LOL,

Thank you for your email to the Post Office HomePhone and Broadband
regarding your request for Interleaving to be turned off.

Sorry for the delay in the reply, I was asking for more advice on your
request, I have now sent your details to My Supervisor as they are the
one's that can turn this on/off on a customers account.
He has advised me that this process will (roughly) take 24 hours to be
turned off completely on the line. If this is not off in 24 hours then
maybe try it on Monday morning again to be sure.

What is your DS Latency (i.e. pinging delays) now? Switching your DS Interleave to OFF has the essential benefits of reducing this latency at the expense of "stability"! That is why turning the Interleave OFF should improve people's on-line gaming but may impact their line stability under "worse-case".
