Titan getting rid of O-Bit ?

[link to this post]

Just had this reply from Titan regarding daytime crapness and useage tracker.

Wasn't expecting this.

Hi

1. We have just bought our network as we cannot rely on O-bit. This should be ready within the next 2 weeks.

2. Usage checkers and monitors are still being worked on by o-bit.

3. We will be looking to move all customers to our network in the next coming weeks so keep an eye out on your email inbox.

Philip

So does #2 suggest they are staying with O-Bit but becoming L2TP resellers, buying capacity and then re-selling it with there own rules i place?

True.

But that seems to refer to their Entanet customers.

I emailed them today complaining about daytime Surfwise being [censored] and thats the reply I got.

I'm beginning to think that moving to them was a mistake

Crikey I'm beginning to think there is NO decent broadband provider out there anymore. I'm still with Enta and was thinking of moving but looking at these threads there seems to be no point. Looks like its better the devil u know even if they are terrible!

I think that this may well be true, especially for those on Market 1 exchanges.

The last year has seen the predicted step change in bandwidth consumption with iPlayer etc, coupled with expensive backhaul from BT the result has been inevitable.

With ever-increasing bandwidth demand and no stomach for paying more money for the service, it's likely that most consumer broadband users will find themselves struggling to find a good ISP.

Don't expect the cost reductions from BT in January to make things much better for very long either, traffic growth will eat up the halving of backhaul costs quite rapidly.

It needs those supplying the backhaul to find a way to reduce their costs and pass as much as possible of it on to the users.

Starting to look like LLU or a quiet Docsis 3 (virgin) network might be the only way. Which stuffs us non-LLU/cable'd areas.

Until several thousand ex enta, ex O-Bit punters get dumped on there fact is fairly simple finite bandwidth add a ton of new subscribers and any service is going to go tits up
