Anyway I've ordered this option (Called "File sharing add on") so will report back on how it goes.

Gary

Well seems to have done the trick.

Iplayer streams at 10+Mbps
Newsgroup test at 14Mbps
Torrent maxed out at 1.7MB/s
TBB speed checker works now.

To be fair I only noticed a problem with Iplayer streaming before so anyone taking this package might want to try it without the addon first.

One anomaly. Having a play around this morning and noticed that the TBB test files on all three ports are slow.
Port 80 at 2.2Mbps
Port 81 and 8080 at 1.7 Mbps
Other test files from around the web seem to work OK.

Any idea why this might be??

They are the only tests I have found that run slowly.

migrated over to surfwise variety recently, basically the same service as vivaciti broadband complete but only providing adsl without phone rental - initial impressions posted here:

Thought it worth pointing out I have just found out that this add on also removes the 100GB FUP. Puts the pricing in a different light I think.

Didn't realise at the time so thanks to acting_funny for pointing it out to me smile

I would pay a bit extra for a higher allowance tiscali if available so please consider that, although 75gig should be enough for me the vast majority of the time, just be nice to have it there when needed.
