Vivaciti: LLU Unlimited ?

[link to this post]

LLU unlimited is an upto 24mb service with up to 1.2mb upload. This service is fully unlimited with no traffic management or traffic shaping, ideal for people who want a no thrills no fuss service away from BT profiling.

http://www.vivaciti.net/product/1/home-internet/25/l...

Sounds suspicious to me for the price

Anyone got experience with this package?

I believe the claims are valid. There have certainly been many people reporting their happiness in the past, but obviously also a few less satisfied.

They also have LLU 75 packages that compete with these unlimited ones on many exchanges. These are expected to give more consistent performance in terms of speed and stable latency, at the cost of the higher price and 75GB cap. If you think about the claim you quote and the one for LLU 75 I think it is reasonably clear.

We need to know your exchange to see which network you can get. It could be neither, one or both.

I'm on the NSDEN exchange

http://www.samknows.com/broadband/exchange/NSDEN

It supports c&w so should be able to get that package.

Don't trust it, Vivaciti are lied as I used to be with them before, they lied and never be trusted with their support, billing etc. Awful.

We have opened this package back up for new sign ups, we closed the ordering due to a few issues some of our customers were seeing, but these issues have since been resolved.

On the CW service default SNR is 9dB, interleaving can be lowered but not off.
On our LLU Home package (with free migrations) we can do a 6dB profile and have the line on fast path.

Just to comment on madadslmax. He was a total laughing stock on these forums for a year or so when he changed ISP monthly on the basis of the first poor speed test result he got. He migrated in and out of the various Entanet resellers during that spell, vivaciti being one of the unfortunate sufferers, at a time when Entanet connections as a whole were having severe problems. (Vivaciti Family and Office products are Entanet, and not in the frame here).

I don't think he has ever tried one of their non-Entanet connections, though I could be wrong.

Just ignore his rubbish.

We only moved to save some money, and I have to say that the customer service, along with the connection at Xilo was truly excellent wink

Contention... (and price)

50:1 on the Home version and 20:1 on the Office. Also, the Home price includes VAT whereas the Office one does not.

I totally agree, adslmax was/is full of [censored]. Many, many hours spent laughing at his posts back in the Enta days!

As for the Viv LLU package, I was on this up until recently and I am happy to confirm it was a great package that really is unlimited. Would still be with Vivaciti now if it wasn't for Digital Region lighting up my cabinet with Fibre optic goodness wink

I haven't got a bad thing to say about Vivaciti, excellent, friendly support, had one hiccup with billing but that was sorted quickly and professionally. Sign up !

a mate of mine is on that package, he gets about !6megabits and have had no problems, well no problems with the supplier anyway, his problems was Bt and their inability to sort out a line issue. All is working now and he is very happy.

I am on the same service (cable and Wireless) with ADSL24, a couple of quid more per month, I don't get the high speed as the cables are long, but reliability is good. i do get get about 4megabits,

A good service to be honest for the price, I never had any dealing with Vivaciti, so I don't know what they are like, my mate only phoned them once. i don't play online games, but my mate does, he is a big games player and he don't have any problems with the lack of fast path.

again, I will go by what my mate thinks, he downloads a lot of content from Stream, I think that is what it is called, loads of games, updates, sometimes going over 150Gb in the month and have had no problems and no traffic management, which is always a good thing.
None of that silly profiling, I connect at the same speed all the time.

Only one problem, for me anyway, is that the SNR is fixed and can't be changed via the ISP. My Speedtouch router will connect at a higher speed than the netgear as it knocks the SNR down, but the netgear is a better router.

So I need the speedtouch modem with the netgear router smile
