New website, Line Rental & Mobile Broadband from ADSL24

[link to this post]

We've finally updated our website as it's been several years since our previous update. In addition we've also launched our line rental services together with our mobile broadband services due to popular customer demand for us to provide such services. We also have a free setup offer on C&W unlimited LLU packages, so lot's going on!

http://adsl24.co.uk/

If anyone has any queries in particular feel free to ask away.

Cheers

I rather pay another company for Caller Id than use Bt, just a shame that the money still goes to BT indirectly.

I presume that the 1571 cost is for the more advanced version where you can personalized it. most other land lind service supplier have a basic 1571 for free, not that I activated mine when i moved from BT.

the one problem i do see with ADSLphone service is that you pay rental and all you get is a phone line, you still need to pay for calls, not free calls at all, which is fine if you don't use the landline i suppose.

Last year i asked about a phone service from ADSL24 as I am on their cable and wireless LLU service and they said they did not supply one but they had it on their website. so i went for First telecom and to be honest they do what I want, I see no reason to change, not that I can at the moment anyway.

Happy with my broadband from ADSL24, got no plans to change, even if I did look at Sky a couple of times.

That's on a customer by customer basis though, because not everyone wants those features, and the majority of customers who transfer their line to us is because they just need the line for their broadband service and don't really use the features or make many calls. In this instance it's very competitive. It's all about the monthly contract too smile

The 1571 is the basic Wholesale 1571 which actually costs just over £1+vat from BT Wholesale/Openreach, hence why we have to offer it as an added option. Its either that or add £1 on to the line rental even though most people won't use the 1571. Catch 22 I guess, we prefer to simply give the option.

Why are you ignoring my repeated pointing out of an elementary error on your website about your free web space? Or maybe isn't it an error, in which case it's a bit of a useless inclusion.

Just wondering who this service will be aimed at. I know you said in a answer above that people who just want a phone line could be the target market, but i pay less for my line rental and I get free evening and weekend calls.

The cost per minute is slightly higher on peak times, but not by that much.

I may not use the phone that often, but at least i can use it for free in the evening and weekends if I need to.

as you said maybe the monthly contract is what people want, but how many keep changing ph9one services? I got just over two months left with my phone supplier and then I am free to go, but i doubt I will

But as i said, I am still staying with ADSL24 for broadband, unless money gets real tight.

irrational desires?

i found Bt ph9one service CS pathetic, but that is not why I moved from Bt, the reason I went is because of their renewable contracts and I could get a better deal that suited me elsewhere.

BT 1571 is personalisable.

If you pay for it.
i don't have 1571 and have not had it for a while now, I got a answering machine don't need 1571, I don't even have Caller ID.

I block my number from going out, so It would be a bit hypercritical of me if I wanted to know who phoned me.

Do people still use free web space? Most people these days uses Facebook or sites like it to tell the world who they are and what they are doing.

I have never used my free web space, I would not know how to as I have not really looked into it.

I don't pay a penny for it!
What is BT Answer 1571?
BT Answer 1571 is an answering service that will answer calls when you are either away from the phone or engaged on another call. It then alerts you that there is a new message waiting in your mailbox by placing a stutter dial tone on the line. You can create your own personal greeting for callers to hear and change this as often as you like.

Is BT Answer 1571 free of charge?
BT Answer 1571 is available at no extra cost when you sign up, for customers who make calls with BT. If you are billed monthly, then you must make at least two chargeable calls with BT each month or if you are billed quarterly, then you must make at least six chargeable calls with BT within that quarter. If you use the service and don't make these calls with BT you will be charged for this service.

I think it was last year BT added the ability to personalise the greeting on the "free" version of 1571.

I write "free" because because you have to make outbound billable calls though BT to qualify for it, else there is a fee. I know this first hand because I have my calls via a 3rd party but pay line rental (plus caller ID and 1571 charges) directly to BT.
