I've just moved to ADSL24 LLU and my connection is dropping all the time and I'm getting a bit fed up.

When it eventually reconnects, the sync speed is all over the place.
I am 400m from the exchange and was previously with BT where I had a faultless and rock-solid connection for over 4 years.
Any help would be welcome.

Can you post your router stats, make and model of router too may help.

I've been unable to connect for the last two hours but finally back on. \0/
My router is a Belkin F5D8636 and I took screengrabs of the various sync speeds.

Belkin's are awful.
I would first try a better router as from the stats, you either have a line issue (very low attenuation, very poor sync rate and stupidly high, fluctuating SNR), a router issue, or something else that is connected causing problems.
Even on the last image where you are seeing 13db attenuation and 12Mb sync, that should be far higher.

I had a feeling you were going to say that. =^>

I've had enough of the constant disconnections and will be applying for my MAC code tomorrow.
Moving to ADSL24 is the worst move I ever made.

Did you try a new router?
You went from ADSL1 to ADSL2+ which can be less stable on some lines.

You'll likely have the same problem with another ADSL2+ provider. Did you try a different router?
You really haven't supplied any information which would apportion any blame to ADSL24.

When you get a chance, purchase a secondhand netgear dg834 online (you would do will to start on auction sites, they're ten a penny) and give that a go.
I'd concur with the point that belkin routers seem to be worse than their competitors, at least from my experience with them.

Belkin used to be good, but I have had the same experiences recently.
I find Netgear to be a good router, easier interface too.

What did ADSL24's availability checker say when you ordered with them? You have to bear in mind its not 100% launched yet as well.
I'm on ADSL2+ and I've been quite happy with the near double speed. I'm a fair distance from the exchange, was getting 3MB now I vary between 5.5-6.5MB

Disconnections only occur due to either a line or router fault, not anything with the ISP backbone otherwise it would be affecting all users. As others have suggested, Belkins are awful on a lot of LLU services, well ADSL2+ in general.
Have you tried another router, in the BT test socket, for a period of a few days?

This is getting beyond a joke now, as I am having *serious* difficulties getting online.
I switched routers, (I won't say which make, as some people will probably rubbish that make too), and it has made absolutely no difference.
I performed a quiet-line test with no other equipment attached and there is noise/static on the line.
I called BT and the indian guy said there was no fault on the line and then offered to send out an engineer at £100+ or whatever the going rate is...I declined.
I connected one router with one filter..it wouldn't connect...tried the quiet-line test....lots of static and noise....I tried two filters...no connection...quiet-line test...lots of static and noise.
I tried the other make of router with one filter...no connection......quiet-line test..lots of static and noise....tried with two filters ...tried quiet-line test...lots of static, clicks and noise.
So to sum up....on BT ADSL at 400m from the exchange...I had an absolute rock-steady 8Mb connection for 8 years....and after 2 months on ADLS2+ LLU, the connection has been down more times than it has been up.

Took me ages to find that thread, did it really take me that long to make my mind up? I like to thank you lot for making me see sense, I may have still been with Bt now.
