Well 9db settled it down (with a resultant and disappointing loss of speed).... until yesterday... the last 48 hours have seen a lot of rain, and suddenly I am seeing occasional random resyncs (2 in the last 48 hours that I know of and 1 deliberate one as the first drop lowered my sync into the 7XXX level and with that I may as well be back on Entas 8 meg service!!!! ... seems to suggest that BT still haven't actually fixed the issue that has been in my line for a long long time - the problem has seen several routers and filters, 2 DECT Phone systems and 3 Sky Boxes (although I no longer plug them into the phone line being out of contract) and a couple of ISPs - this has been an issue with both Pipex and Enta - and I believe I have moved ports a couple of times in the past due to complete loss of service on 2 occasions.
Weather changes... stuff happens.... hmmm am I being paranoid here? Looks like its back to the phones for another round of try to get Openreach to actually fix the line properly, as well as the drops, 9db means my line now underperforms and is returning close to what a good quailty line at my distance would give on ADSL1!
Time to find out if the Vivaciti Support guys are adept at getting Openreach to do some work.
Wish me luck... on past evidence I'm gonna need a bucketful
