ADSL24 speed loss since I switched from BT

I've got a ongoing ticket so I not needing anybody from ADSL24 to reply directly but asking for other's people's advice too to see what they think.

OK I was with BT up to yesterday then I migrated in. Few things I have noticed though. For a start my speed.

When I was with BT? I was connecting roughly anywhere between 2270 and 2350kbps so already as you can see there's quite a drop. Upload speed was 448kbps so in that aspect ADSL24 are better. The line attention is worrying me though as 65.0db is surely not right? I was at 58db with the BT connection (I do have a long line though as it is so any speed loss is quite significant for me) Just wondering if I should do anything else or what do people think? Or should I just leave it with the guru's at 24? (They are raising it with the suppliers to see what can be done)

A couple of questions.

1) What Wholesale network have you been put on? C&W, TalkTalk etc. Some networks set the min SNR margin at 9dB (BT sets as low as 3dB).

2) What connection technology are you connecting with. ADSL1 or ADSL2+ ?

2. I was connecting on well I left the router (Netgear DGND3700) to AUTO but I switched that do ADSL2+ as advised in my ticket. (Ticket's been updated to say that they still trying to figure out the right profile for my line)

I guess you have moved from BT ADSL Max to ADSL2+, but on your long line you won't benefit from that. That's why your attn. has increased.

Try forcing router to run with ADSL Mode = ADSL2 (G.992.3) or even ADSL (G.DMT) which should be like your BT connection but with higher upstream. Repost stats.

WARNING: Edit out your MAC addys & IP addy from your stats to deter interlopers. You only really need last 4-line block.

That'll be why.. The default SNR is 9db. You might be able to get them to lower it but C&W generally refuse.

As I said previously try with ADSL & ADSL2 and report stats. You are already on ADSL2+.

Can't understand why ADSL24 are still humming and haring when they could suggest this obvious experiment.

Just do what XRaySpeX said. Alter your router settings so it does not connect at ADSL2+.

Only allow ADSL2 and ADSL (G.DMT).

You should also have removed you IP address and MAC address, as he advised . You need to ask in TTTS for staff/mods to remove them. Open invitation to hackers.

Before I go ahead and try this? 1 more question. My router has VC and LLC based multiplex method. Currently it's at VC-Based. Do I keep it at VC at all times?

Yes. Unless your ISP tells you different. Change that on your connection and it just won't work.
