Vivaciti unusable at peak.

I caurrently recieve very poor pings at peaks and weekends via Vivaciti.

Ever since the switch from MurphX to thier current service, where to logins changed, i get very poor pings and very slow browsing, to the point its unusable.

At the moment I use my laptop on mobile broadband as pings are better there on 3, but to slow for gaming.

I previously have contaxted vivaciti, and they have temporarily comes back, and as i am mostly busy at work during peaks and weekends (my family complain about slow speeds). I not had time to properly look into.

Doing traceroutes the connection routes through Entanet's network. I have been previously assured that its not a Enta LLU service they just route via the network.

I used to be on UKFSN via Entanet and had exactly the same problems with enta towards the end.When i first joined then they were great but went downhill rapidly.

On the MurphX connection although overall speeds offpeak was very slightly slower, the pings were pretty steady.

The things i mostly do on net are gaming, video streamign and radio net boradcasting, at the moment I am unable to use my connection for these things. Just wondering if anyone else has this problem via enta.

Dont get me wrong Vivaciti has been fantastic, but i lost my pantience with Enta a long time ago and will have to get a Mac code again to get away from enta if no other option As if i am home early or have a weekend off i cannot use my connection, any my family cant use it while im at work.

Are those tracerts done with a wired connection, or wireless?

Your router stats also look extremely odd. There is no way you should be connecting at 5125kbps on 61.5dB attenuation. It doesn't look as though you have achieved that by tweaking, as you have a current margin of 7.9dB.

I would be looking for a close to home problem. Any chance you can also give us the error stats? You are very possibly getting huge numbers, and the router is spending all its time dealing with those instead of transmitting data.

Odd question, have you asked Vivaciti if your line is doing much data either download, or upload during the times of high latency.

Also, have you tried using the line quality monitor on TBB to see if the latency is to the WAN interface of the router?

I currently connect all my computers via wired (apart from macbook i mainly use for work and sometimes update at home).

I plug directly into master test socket for last year as i knocked the faceplate and broke the connection (oops). Line was fine before switch from murphx, only with the odd dropouts and outages expected due to length of line.

I think that the DGN2200 misinterprets the line attenuation as 62db, as the DG834G interprets as 58db. have always been blessed with a relitively good sync for the length of line. I have at timeswhen tweaked managed to push to 6Mb

I have switched back on to the DGN2200, and of yet not got my error stats off of this router, incidently quite often offpeak when i get a really good ping, the SNRM goes down to 5.5-6db. Here is a tracert from offpeak:

i think bbc always times out on hops 7/8

line seems to have stabilised a bit after a reboot so will try and figure out to get the error stats on this router or try and get my DG834N working again which can get full stats from.
